The payment
For payments to resident suppliers. Give the supplier a withholding tax credit certificate and pay the tax to the GRA by the 15th of the next month. Some payments are exempt or have other rates; check with the GRA if unsure.
Common questions
What are the withholding tax rates?
For resident suppliers: 3% on goods, 5% on works and 7.5% on services.
When do I pay the withheld tax?
By the 15th of the month after you paid the supplier. Give the supplier a withholding tax credit certificate so they can claim it.
What if the supplier wants a fixed amount in hand?
Choose "What they must receive". The calculator works out the invoice total so that, after withholding, they get exactly that amount.
