Straight line spreads the cost evenly and suits most assets. Reducing balance writes off more in the early years, which suits vehicles and equipment that lose value quickly.
Is this the same as capital allowances?
No. Depreciation is for your own accounts. For tax, the GRA uses capital allowances at its own rates.
