text
Your addon: GHS 50/month
Installs: 20 organizations
Monthly Revenue:
Total billing: 20 × GHS 50 = GHS 1,000
SyncBooks commission (25%): GHS 250
Your payout (75%): GHS 750
Annual Revenue:
GHS 750 × 12 = GHS 9,000/year from one addon!Free Trials
When registering your add-on, you can set a trial period:
- Organizations get full access during the trial
- No billing until the trial expires
- After trial: auto-billed or add-on expires (org must actively subscribe)
- Common trial lengths: 7, 14, or 30 days
Trials increase conversions
Addons with a 14-day trial get 3x more installs than paid-only addons. Let users experience the value before paying.
Payouts
Developer payouts are processed monthly:
- Payout day: Around the 15th of each month
- Methods: Mobile Money (MTN, Vodafone, AirtelTigo) or Bank Transfer
- Minimum payout: GHS 50 (accumulated until threshold met)
- Currency: GHS (Ghana Cedis)
Setting Up Payout Details
Go to /developers → Developer Profile → update your payout method and details.
Viewing Your Earnings
Track revenue in the Developer Profile section:
- Total Apps — number of add-ons you've published
- Total Installs — across all your add-ons
- Total Revenue — your cumulative earnings
- Pending Payout — amount awaiting next payout cycle
Pricing Strategy Tips
- Start free, go paid later — build installs first, add premium features later
- Price based on value — if your addon saves 10 hours/month, charging GHS 50 is reasonable
- Check competitors — look at similar addons in the marketplace
- Offer trials — reduces friction for new installs
- GHS 20-100/month — the sweet spot for SMB tools in Ghana
